Police Log

The Jamestown Police Department from Oct. 13 to Oct. 20 responded to 389 calls for service. Of those calls, officers performed 205 security checks of vacant homes, businesses and public buildings. The police also responded to four car accidents, 14 fire calls, 11 animal complaints, six parking complaints and eight alarms. Officers conducted 16 traffic stops, resulting in one arrest and two citations.

Warrant

Carrie T. Chase, 37, of Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, was charged Oct. 14 for a bench warrant issued from 2nd District Court in Newport. According to police, the warrant stemmed from a misdemeanor shoplifting charge. Chase was pulled over on North Road after an officer recognized her driving a vehicle. Chase was transported to the police station, processed and arraigned before a justice of the peace.
